One Last Night in the Lion City
How would you feel if your flight home was the very next day? I certainly felt a rush of panic in Singapore. I had just finished a Smart City course, but my excitement was missing. Was I in a race against time to explore before leaving?
Immediately, I went back to the hotel. Three friends were also returning their homes the next day, so we decided to spend our last night exploring together. It was advantage to me. Can you imagine navigating a massive smart city with no previous experience?
I quickly got ready, and before long, we were on the high-tech subway. First, we went to ION Orchard to see Singapore from the top level of the ION Sky building. Can you imagine how I felt seeing the Lion City from the 56th floor of this famous building? It was amazing, and I took a lot of photos. Then we were so hungry, so we went to Boat Quay to eat some delicious dinner. I remember eating some amazing Turkish food. After that, we walked to take photos of the famous Merlion sculpture. The area was incredibly crowded, but in spite of being so busy, we managed to visit the famous Gardens by the Bay before returning on the subway to our hotel
Eventually, I arrived at the hotel. Just as I was going to bed, I checked an email from the airline. My itinerary had changed, and I needed to stay two more days! I think you'll agree it had been quite an evening, but those extra days are a story for another time.
